Book Manuscript Evaluation

A thorough read-through of your book manuscript (or dissertation) to identify challenges in argument, evidence, structure, narrative, voice, and style, and provide clear direction in how to overcome them.

Publishing a book means finding your voice, clarifying your ideas, and streamlining your writing. Whether you want to write a monograph to impact your field, a crossover book that allows your ideas to move between disciplines or a trade book that communicates your ideas to a wider audience, I can help. I’ll read your full manuscript and assess its strengths and weaknesses regarding argument, narrative, evidence, structure and style, in order to outline a detailed revision plan that will help you undertake revision and move the project forward. Clients often emerge from this process more confident about their arguments.

What You’ll Get:

  • Two face-to-face or phone meetings (one half hour prior to editing and one hour after you have received my feedback) to discuss specific issues that may be of concern to you and a plan for moving the project forward following receipt of the evaluation letter.

  • An editorial letter detailing my feedback concerning argument, evidence, narrative, structure, voice, and style. This also includes an explanation of how these issues may impact the reader’s understanding and engagement with your work and a clear plan for correcting the issues I have identified.
