Many of my clients want to get their ideas out into the world beyond academia. This can be daunting if you’ve been trained to think and write like an academic. Your voice, the rhythm of writing, and the approach to getting published or accepted for a high-profile talk change dramatically when you move from the classroom to the public square.

During media consulting, I’ll help you with the various parts of this process, including identifying the best venue for your work, strategizing outlets, tailoring your content and process, writing and tracking pitches, and breaking into markets as a novice.

 

The texture of this type of work is different from client to client. It might look like:

  • A brainstorming session, where we’ll pick out the best new formats for your ideas.

  • Strategizing: Once you have decided on the venue you’d like to tackle, we can discuss successful strategies of working, writing and pitching.

  • General consulting on voice, narrative, process, idea generation, and tracking and data analysis of your hits and misses.

This service is booked hourly at $80/hour.
